ACMA can request ISPs to block illegal gambling and affiliate sites. In June 2026 it reported 1,751 illegal gambling and affiliate websites blocked since November 2019.
A replacement domain does not change the underlying service classification.
How to apply it
- Identify the exact service being supplied—not only the brand or homepage label.
- Match the legal entity and product to the current official record.
- Keep an overseas licence question separate from Australian permission to provide the service.
What presentation cannot prove
Australian-dollar pricing, familiar games, local imagery, a mobile interface and chat support do not establish that an online casino is authorised for Australians. An overseas badge cannot expand the scope of an Australian wagering licence.
Evidence to preserve
Keep the full URL, date, service description, operator details, payment reference, advertised terms and correspondence. Redact passwords, full card numbers and identity files from any public copy.
